Star Trek Discovery

I started binge-watching Star Trek Discovery yesterday. So far I am not very pleased with it, and I’m half way into the 1st season. It reminds me of how the latter seasons of Star Trek Enterprise – dark and war. I like Star Trek because it is an optimistic vision of our future and possibilities. I also like it because it hides real controversial story lines in a sci-fi dressing. I don’t see much of either of those traits when they try to please the mass market that wants darkness and violence. Luckily we have The Orville!
